Paint Mediums

Historical bias: Historically, certain mediums have been considered more "serious" or "fine art" than others. For example, oil painting was long held in higher regard than watercolor or pastels, which were sometimes relegated to the status of "craft" or "studies." This could lead to a lack of respect, exhibition opportunities, or lower prices for artists who primarily worked in these "lesser" mediums.
